It was nicely served in a Bell’s Brewery glass and was clear and straw yellow with a bit of a coppery tone to it. It had very little to no head on it. I noticed a breezy floral, slightly citrusy, hop aroma with some hints of an almost honey-like sweetness.
The body was light and it was extremely crisp and refreshing to drink. It had a nice honey-like malt sweetness, quickly followed by a big hop flavor which actually seemed to get bigger in the aftertaste. The hop flavor was definitely more floral than grassy, but both flavors were present.
As far as a food pairing, it would go very well with any summertime food – hot dogs, burgers, brats, etc. This might possibly be the perfect IPA for a hot summer day. It was very light, crisp, and refreshing up front, with a hop flavor that came through in the aftertaste. I’ve only had this once before, but I have to say that I would rank this up there as one of my favorites.
