752. Krombacher Gruppe – Krombacher Dark

I’m still at the Beer House Chicago since I’m staying a across the street while I’m up in the Chicago suburbs for work. As I mentioned in my last post, there was a sales girl here giving away glasses if you have both Keombacher Pils and this Dark. It’s kind of a cool glass and it’s somewhat cheap, so I figured why not. Location: On tap and served in a Krombacher Pilsner glass at Beer House Chicago in...

497. Dixie Brewing – Dixie Blackened Voodoo Lager

I looked into the beer fridge and thought I’d dig around a little bit. I found a mixed six pack of beers I picked up on a work trip to New Orleans several months ago. We arrived in Denver and got checked into our hotel.  When it came to dinner choices, I didn’t really give my co-worker who was with me much choice.  However, as long as the place had beer, I was sure he wouldn’t mind.  I wanted to hit Wynkoop, Denver’s oldest brew pub, since the last time I was in Denver, it was closed.  I thought I’d start with something light, yet flavorful, so I went with their...

34. Köstritzer Schwarzbierbrauerei – Köstritzer Schwarzbier

As I mentiond in my last post, we’re in Miami, and on the way to the airport, we found Fritz and Franz Bierhaus in Coral Gables. The menu was full of German and Austrian food and I ordered a schnitzel sandwich accompanied by a Köstritzer Schwarzbier. It was delivered in a very cold bottle with the long stem goblet you see here.  It had a nice, full tan creamy head on it when I poured it.  The head had pretty good retention, and...
