When I poured, it was a dark amber color and I noticed quite a bit of sediment floating around in it. It also had a nice creamy head, which fell slowly. It had a little bit of a citrusy and spicy hop aroma.
It’s got a creamy, medium body and the carbonation is a bit sharp on the tongue. There was very little-to-no maltiness detectable, but it had a definite earthy-spicy hopiness. The hop flavor faded to a bit of a earthy-grassyness in the finish.
Overall, it was a fair IPA which fell on the really hoppy side, although it had an interesting and unusual hop characteristic I found difficult to identify – earthy, spicy, grassy, etc. It would probably go well with bar foods, especially fried foods. It was an OK beer, but I’m not sure if it is one I would go for again.
