The body was very light/thin and it tasted like it smelled, like a very light ale with a slight lemongrass flavor. I did notice a bit of a wheat/yeasty flavor in the finish.
Despite it being a home state brew (it’s brewed upstate in Chicago, IL, as the “312” indicates the area code), this is the first time I’ve tried it.
Admittedly, among wheat beers, I don’t think it is among my favorites. Although if it showed up at a party in a cooler between Miller Light and Bud Light, I’d grab the Goose Island 312.
It would be good on a hot, sunny day when I wanted a beer that would be refreshing… I’m thinking lawnmower beer. It would probably go well with shrimp on the grill or fish, as the lemongrass flavor would compliment the, butter, lemon or dill seasonings.
