Numbers: 6% ABV, 45 IBUs, 14.25° OG (plato)
Appearance & Aroma: It was a golden orange color with a little bit of amber tones to it. There was a thin, bright white head on it, which fell away within a minute or two of pouring it. There was an obvious citrusy and slightly piney hop aroma to it.
Taste & Feel: Very crisp, it had a light-medium body, and was pretty drinkable. The carbonation in it gave it a bit of a crisp bite up front along with a bit of breadiness. In the middle, there were citrusy and piney hop flavors with a hint of floral and fruitiness. The finish was slightly dry with the citrusy hop flavors taking over.
Food Pairing: The hop flavors were mostly citrusy and piney with a little bit of floralness, and that sat on top of a bit of a bready and slightly fruity malt base. I think it would go perfectly with a bleu cheese, cheese burger. The sharp hop flavors would be cut and complemented by the bleu cheese, and the light crispness of the beer would help was down the thick, juicy burger.
Overall Impression: I was looking for something hoppy and got it. The hop aroma and flavor was pleasant and enjoyable, and it was pretty light, crisp, and drinkable. Overall, I think this would be a pretty good IPA for a hot summer day.
