It poured an amber-orange color and had a thin white head on it. It had a bit of a toasty pilsner-type smell with a hint of lemon or citrus aroma.
The body was very light, and it had a crisp, carbonated mouthfeel. The flavor was a very light toasty, caramel maltiness with a dose of a lemon-citrus type flavor. It finished with the signature New Belgium toasty/bready yeast flavor, along with a citrusy flavor and a lightly dry finish.
This would probably pair well with a salad or fish dish, as the lemon-citrus flavor of the beer would complement the light meal.
I thought this was a very drinkable beer. While I probably would enjoy the lemon-citrus flavor more during the summer, I always enjoy the toasty/bready flavor from New Belgium’s yeast. Situationally,it wasn’t great for a cold winter evening, but I’m certain it would be refreshing on a hot summer day.
