It was pretty clear with an light orange/copper color and a big, creamy, bright white head on it (which left some great lacing on the glass). The label didn’t lie, as there was a very nice piney and citrusy aroma to it.
The body was light, and the creamy head made it smooth at first. That was quickly followed by a little bit of a crisp carbonation bite. The middle had a mostly piney and citrusy hop flavor which became more intense in the finish. The finish also had a very slight floral hop character as well.
I think this would go great with a nice thick, juicy burger, or even some meatloaf. The big hop flavor would stand up to the big beef flavor.
I really enjoyed the hop flavor and the nice creamy head that came with it. The carbonation bite up front could have been a little less, but it was followed by that nice hop flavor which grew. This is one I’ll have to remember the next time I’m looking for a nice big hop flavor.
