I ordered the Pale Ale because the menu indicated it had won several awards for the brewery. The menu also said it was 5.7% and it arrived filled to the brim. The head was extremely thin and within a minute was non-existent. It was a light straw color with a very, very slight orange tint to it, probably from a small addition of crystal malts. The smell had a very slight hop aroma.
The body was extremely light and the taste was a bit sharp and crisp. I think I expected a bit more hop flavor out of it, but only noticed a little bit of an English hop flavor. The carbonation disappeared and it seemed a bit flat and watery. Because it was so watery, it went down easy, but it was hard to identify much flavor to it.
Obviously, it would go well with just about any food, but it’s not one I’d recommend ordering with your meal here. Overall, I felt like all of the beers at Faultline Brewing Company were light, and almost tasted watered down.
