179. RAM Restaurant & Brewery Indianapolis – Indy Blonde Draft

I was looking for another beer to try, and, since we were in Indianapolis, I thought I’d give the Indy Blonde a try.  I suspect that it is the same as the Big Horn Blonde at other RAM locations, just with a local name.  That didn’t matter too much, as long as I got a chance to try a new beer.

I was really surprised at how clear the beer was, and it was a golden yellow color.  There was a very thin white head on it, and I couldn’t detect any aroma from it at all.

The body was very light, and it had a light, crisp, and refreshing mouthfeel.  It was very drinkable, although there wasn’t much taste to it.  As I continued to drink it, there was a bit of a light cracker type breadiness in the finish.  However, other than that, there wasn’t much flavor to it at all.

I’m sure this beer would go with almost any type of food, as it went down like water.  I’m sure it would be good on a hot summer day when you are looking for something drinkable and refreshing.

I guess every brewery has to have something like this on tap to appeal to the Bud and Miller Light crowd, but in some ways, I think it may even have less flavor than those beers.  It was very light and refreshing, I was just hoping for something with a little more flavor.

My Rating: ★½☆☆☆
