Since I had an enormous quantity of beer on my Oregon trip, and at the Oregon Brewers Festival, I’m trying to catch up on my reviews. So, I’ve been trying to slow down trying new beers until I get caught up. However, when opportunities present themselves, I’ll go ahead and try a new one. In this case, I was picking up mexican food for the family and had to wait a bit, so I ordered this from the menu.
It was served in this bottle with no glass, so I’m not sure what color it actually is, or what kind of head it has. There was a tiny bit of a malt aroma coming from the bottle, but it was very light.
The body was very light, and the mouthfeel was light and crisp. There was almost no noticeable flavor to it at first, but as I drank it, I began to notice a tiny bit of a bready, cracker-like flavor up front and a hint of creamy malts and a tiny bit of hops in the finish.
This beer was so light that it could go with almost anything. It works well for spicy mexican food, since it goes down like water with a bit of a cracker taste to it. However, I think it would be a nice, light addition to heavier foods such as chili or lasagna.
Overall, I thought this was a very, very drinkable beer. If you’re going for something crisp and refreshing on a hot summer day, this will go down like water.
