It was very clear and almost bright orange in color. There was almost no head, only a few bubbles around the ring of the glass. There was a bit of maltiness in the nose as well as an orange peel or zest smell.
The body was very light, and it had a smooth, but crisp mouthfeel. There was a bready maltiness up front, followed by a alight orange taste near the middle. There was a slight hop bitterness in the finish and in the aftertaste.
This beer would probably go best with a pasta, as it was light and very drinkable, and would be a light match to go with a heavy pasta dish.
Overall, I’d say that this would be a fairly nice summer beer – light, crisp, and drinkable, but not too watery. I thought the orange zest was an interesting addition, but it wasn’t overpowering. It’s not a beer I’d likely seek out again, but if someone handed me one on a hot summer day I’d gladly take it.
