Location: Bottle poured at The Shaved Duck in St. Louis, MO.
Numbers: 5.2% ABV, ~ 154 Calories
Appearance & Aroma: A slightly hazy golden yellow, there was almost no head when I poured it into the glass. There was a very light lagery, bready, and corn-like aroma to it.
Taste & Feel: It was light bodied with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. The flavors were light, with a bit of a cornbread like malt flavor in the middle before a slight bit of bitterness in the slightly dry finish.
Food Pairing: While it went OK with my meal, I think the corn and bready flavors would go with something a bit more bready. Actually, I think it would be good for helping to wash down bready, fried foods, such as breaded shrimp, fish sticks, etc.
Overall Impression: I always have a difficult time with pilsners and lighter beers with not a lot of flavor. While the flavors in this beer were light, and it had more flavor than other light pilsners, I didn’t really like the cornbread like flavors. It tasted more like an adjunct beer than I like. However, I will say that it was pretty drinkable, I just wasn’t a fan of the flavors.
