Numbers: 5% ABV
Appearance & Aroma: It was very clear and was golden-yellow in color. The head was bright white with some big bubbles in it, which quickly dissipated. The carbonation reminded me a bit of a carbonated soda. There was a slightly sweet malt aroma to it.
Taste & Feel: The body was very light, and there was a bit of a carbonation bite up front. It was very drinkable because there didn’t seem to be much flavor to it. There was a slight malty-bready flavor in the middle with a fairly dry finish. Much like other light lagers, there was a slight corn-like flavor noticeable after a few drinks of it.
Food Pairing: Obviously, this goes pretty well with lighter Asian fare. It certainly didn’t overpower the flavors of my steak and shrimp, and added slightly more flavor to the taste than cleansing the palate with water would have. The slight breadiness was a nice complement to the rice.
Overall Impression: This was a very crisp and drinkable beer with only a slightly malty-bready flavor. While it went down easily, and helped to cleanse the palate decently, there wasn’t much to it. This would only be good on a very hot summer day – and even then, it might have a bit too much carbonation for that – or to help set the mood with some Asian food. It’s not one I’d recommend otherwise.
