If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you’ll remember my Oktoberfest Challenge back in October, where I had a seasonal Oktoberfest or pumpkin beer every day during the month. I never thought it would be so hard to find so many seasonal beers. On one trip to the local liquor store, I found a beer from Capital Brewing simply labled “Fest Seasonal beer.” I naturally assumed it was their Oktoberfest.
When I did my review of the Capital Brewery Fest Seasonal Beer I got a note from their brewmaster, Kirby Nelson, letting me know that it was actually a beer celebrating their 10th anniversary, and not their Oktoberfest. He offered to send me a bottle of their Oktoberfest to include here. I took him up on the offer, and after waiting until the beer wouldn’t freeze in transit, this box arrived on my porch today. He didn’t just send me one of their Oktoberfest beers, but six! Additonally, he sent me a six pack of their limited release, Autumnal Fire doppelbock!
I never expected a brewmaster to read my reviews, or send me their beer. This was a very nice (and welcomed) surprise. I’m planning to review both of these beers very soon.
Thank you again to Capital Brewery, and brewmaster Kirby Nelson, for their generosity and contribution to my efforts!
